creek (n.) 小河、小溪
be up a creek這個片語是be up a/the creek without a paddle的省略說法，船在溪裡卻無槳(paddle)可划，真是想去哪兒都不行。be up a/the creek就是在形容某人處於無法脫身的窘境之中。
