You look terrific! * Good job! I like the way you expressed your ideas. * I'm proud of your effort to earn these good grades! Words like these make us stand up taller and give us confidence. Studies show that praise and compliments help to build self-esteem. Sometimes people are hesitant to give and receive compliments. They fear that praise will lead to pride. But giving appropriate compliments makes people feel good about themselves. Moreover, it motivates them to continue doing their best. Exchanging compliments is an important social skill.
